Schwipe No More.

Melbourne's own menswear juggernaut Schwipe has today released a statement announcing it's own death. Launched by graphic designer Tim Everist in 1999 as a men's T-shirt business and was later joined by graphic artist Misa Glisovic, the label was undeniably notorious, with tee slogans such as "Ketamine Is a Drug for Horses", "Rehab is For Quitters" and “Islam is OK!”. Since, they've become local champions of cardigans, button ups and hoodies alike. The last few years has also seen the rise of the Don't Come Gallery. With stockists as far as New York, London, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan- and fans including Kanye West, skateboarding godfather Tony Alva, and indie forerunners LCD Soundsystem, it is indeed a heavy loss to the Australian fashion industry after 10years killing it in the game.

Their release today:
"After 48,000,000 beers, 5,000,000 coffees, 25,000 wines, 2500 hangovers, 1059 pingrz, 950 arguments, 812 'islam is ok' tshirts, 787 pizzas, 654 'ketamine is drug for horses' t-shirts, 546 shit bitch!', 493 mistakes, 314 little Collins st, 301 anxiety attacks, pantone 198, 150 parties 120 t-shirt designs, 87 damaged goods, 79 delusions of grandeur, 69 illusions, 67 skulls, 54 broken hearts, 31 'don't come' exhibitions, 35 interviews, 20 ranges, 19 zeitgeists, 18 factories, 17 fabric suppliers, 16 calls from tax office, 15 :)'s, 14 near misses, 13 conspiracy theories, 12 broken promises, 11 websites, 10 years, 9 photoshoots, 8 scams, 7 hate emails, 6 laptops, 5 cease and desists, 4 megaphones, 3 studios, 2 ex-best mates, 1 ambulance ride, $0 profit; it's over.
